Dr. Virendra Swarup Institute of Professional Studies is a renowned name in the line of self-finance education college of Kanpur. It is located in the Southern Part of the city. The chief aim of the college is to produce socially productive, individuals by imparting them quality education. For this purpose, theoretical, practical, and co-curricular aspects are duly emphasized. The small lamp, lit before 11 years has now changed into a wide spectrum of light. Presently under the co-ordinatorship and headship of Dr. Poonam Madan, Our College has been NAAC Accredited with a 'B' Grade and also registered under sections 2f & 12b of the UGC Act 1956.

Our academic session starts with an orientation Programme. The institute develops its academic calendar and the timetable is managed according to the norms of NCTE & CSJM University. The institute conducts 3 unit tests; half-yearly exam viva-voice and annual exams for evaluation and assessing students' performance & progress.

For 40 days of practice teaching, students are sent to the 5 nearby Parishadiya schools with due permission from B. S. A. During practice teaching, there is an emphasis on multi-skill development among students. Knowledge of micro-teaching, and various approaches to lesson planning. Blue Print-based Achievement test is also given to the students before sending them to actual classrooms.

To develop the inherent capabilities of the students & their all-around development, the institute conducts cultural & educational programs (at least five within a year). The talented and enthusiastic students regularly participate in youth festivals & intercollegiate competitions and bring great laurels. Every year our results are marvellous. Besides this, our faculty members guide preparing projects and assignments, working models, etc. as prescribed in the new syllabus. We have also abled faculty which has been prescribed in new NCTE regulations, our Students prepare and present PPTs on all subjects and present them in a very effective manner.

The institution has highly qualified faculty with Ph. D pursuing Ph. D., Net qualified and having done M. Phil. All the faculty members are engaged in their professional development through participating in seminars, workshops, symposiums, Book writing, etc. Our principal Dr. Poonam Madan has written 37 textbooks of B. Ed., which not only cover the syllabus of CSIM University but also various universities' syllabi of B. Ed. Meerut, Luck now, Hazaribagh, Rohtak, Gorakhpur, MGKV, Magadha, Ranchi, Bundelkhand, Besides this, she has been invited as chief guest/chief speaker/keynote person in National Seminars as also a resource person in workshops. The institute also attempts to cultivate the right values among prospective teachers by providing them with versatile experiences related to teaching skills as well as humanitarian skills. For this purpose, various cells, committees, and resource centers namely IQAC, guidance & counselling cell, Grievance redressal cell, learning Resource center, literary cell, cultural association, and Alumni Association are running successfully. In computer labs, computers have internet facilities. Language lab is established to realize its vision & mission. Students are provided with placement facilities through the placement cell of the institution. Effective strategies are being implemented for slow and advanced learners. The whole academic training program is being conducted perfectly in tune with per vision and mission of the institute. Thus, we strive to empower the female folk with the qualities of head heart, and soul, which make them realize their role in the construction of a healthy society.
